Haier was present at CE China with a range of smart home appliances, the star of which was the new Linkcook Smartlife fridge/freezer.
A large LCD touch screen on the door of the fridge has multiple uses, including listing the items that are inside (and their use-by dates), a function which can also be accessed by a smartphone app which leverages, in some cases, a camera inside the fridge to check on the condition and quantity of the food in case of doubt when at the local grocery store.
The screen also gives recipes based not only on what’s available, but by scanning the face of the user, analysing what might be best for their state of health at any one time.
Inside, separate dry and moist zones for fruit and vegetables ensures they stay fresh longer. And in order to keep the food fresh and hygienic the refrigerator is embedded with ABT-Anti-Bacterial Technology, which according to the manufacturer kills 99.9% of bacteria with the help of Ag+ ions.
